After several years of training on his own, he was honored to meet and continue to train extensively with Mr. Tommy Chavies earning Third Degree Black Belt certification. Mr Chavies has inspired Mr. Waterhouse to look deeper into the concepts and principles of the art, to allow himself to see the sophistication in American Kenpo Karate. Through deep reflection, study and critical analysis of the science of motion concepts of kenpo became clear. Mr. Chavies’ overwhelming confidence in the merits of American Kenpo Karate and his awe inspiring instruction, to this day, sets the precedent for first class quality instruction. Mr Waterhouse, through the guidance of Mr.Tommy Chavies, preserves the art with no compromises, as a gift given by the founder Mr. Edmund K. Parker.
